Bandwidth
We give our users some choice over their internet package, whether you require a capped, or an unlimited internet connection. All of our unlimited packages come with unlimited usage, so you do not have to worry about how much you download each and every month. However, with our capped packages you should tend to monitor your usage a little more carefully, or just pick a big usage allowance that you should not go over. We have included a link to a website, which contains a program that can monitor your usage - go to link.
We have made up a table below, showing some typical values of usage, along with typical internet activities. All of the activities listed together can be done over the course of a given month within the bandwidth specified, in addition to your regular internet surfing.

A usage allowance means that you only pay for what you need, so light users can benefit by paying less than what heavy users use. If you don't think you'll download much each month then you should opt for a lower amount of usage. Current capped users can monitor their monthly usage within 'my account'.
If you are not yet a current customer of ours, or you currently are using one of our unlimited broadband options - then you maybe interested in downloading a bandwidth monitor. This program monitors your usage daily, weekly, and monthly, and gives you a good indication of how much you use. When making a package choice - we always recommend leaving a little extra room, just in case you were to go slightly over the limit. Everything you send or receive over the internet is a bit of data. Each bit of data, whether an email, video clip or photo, is a different size and is measured in Kilobytes (KB), Megabytes (MB) or Gigabytes (GB). The average email is around 4KB, a digital photo around 1MB and a music track around 5MB.
Your monthly allowance lets you download (receiving emails, web pages and files) or upload (sending emails and files) whatever data you want up to the particular allowance that you choose.
